About Freya
A Psychotherapist who gets it
I’m a psychotherapist & family therapist living and working on Gadigal and Bidjigal land, in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. I work with a broad range of individuals and groups including athletes, teenagers, families, and founders. I’m particularly passionate about supporting people through and beyond injury.
As a runner and former competitive rower, I know the emotional toll of injury and pressure, and I also know what becomes possible when you have the right support. Reframe Sessions was created to offer that space, where performance and identity can be rethought, not just endured.
And like you, there’s more to me than running and therapy. I’m originally from the UK, and alongside my work with runners and everyday athletes, I also work as a Family Therapist with teenagers and families. In a former life I led teams at Google and the BBC. I’ve also worked with the suicide-prevention hotline Samaritans and in the NHS. All of these experiences shaped where I am today and what unfolds.
Why I do this work
I started Reframe Sessions because I saw first hand how much active people were struggling with the psychological side of injury and high expectations, without the right space to talk about it. Therapy with me is not about diagnosing you as the problem. It’s about unpacking your story, exploring what matters to you, and building stories, tools, and strategies that actually work in the messy middle of life.
You don’t need to be in crisis to start therapy. This is mental prehab - a space to reconnect with your values, regulate your nervous system, and build emotional endurance.
My approach (how I work)
Collaborative. Curious. Grounded in story, not labels.
I draw on systemic therapy, narrative practices, sport psychology, and Internal Family Systems. That means we look at the bigger picture - not just what’s happening in you, but around you: your relationships, your training environment, your culture, and the stories you’ve inherited about success, failure, pain, and rest. Together, we slow things down, notice what’s shaping your patterns, and find new ways to move forward.
